OpenMW is an amateur project that attempts to use a new game engine to make the iconic game The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind playable on modern equipment. This app makes it possible to run the Bethesda RPG on Android devices.
OpenMW acts as a free and open game engine, which allows the original game to work on any platform. The only requirement is the original game files, either from the original CDs or from any of the digital versions available on stores such as GOG or Steam.
On top of enabling high resolutions and adapting images to the 16:9 aspect ratio, work is being done correcting and refining many aspects of the original game, from the interface to the game mechanics, with the goal of being able to play all the content from the original title, and the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansions, as well as giving users the option of employing the game engine to create their own video games.
This Android adaption uses virtual controls, but other than that, you'll be facing all the joys and difficulties that are to be expected when playing an epic game of this calibre on a mobile device, the functionality and video quality are more or less a carbon copy of the PC edition.
